Best Wishes to Doug Moore
Doug Moore, ECG’s principal engineer, has made a lasting mark with the cities he has served in Georgia. In his tenure, first with MEAG Power in 1994 until now, his name has become synonymous with energy services.
Doug has provided technical assistance to public power utility systems and their commercial and industrial customers in a variety of areas related to the supply, distribution and efficient end use of electricity. He has helped communities initiate green power programs, find energy savings that reduced thousands of dollars from an industrial power bill and solved power quality issues impacting processes on a factory floor.
Doug plans to spend his retirement enjoying his house on Lake Hartwell. ECG will miss Doug as a full-time employee but anticipates his contributions as a consultant.
Hear what others say about him:
Patrick Bowie, LaGrange:
"We have so much confidence in his work that he normally deals directly with the customers, schedules the meetings, and many times presents his findings without our direct input. The feedback we get from the customers has always been excellent, and I know he has been responsible for significant improvements in energy efficiency throughout our community."
Gary Schaeff, MEAG Power:
"I never envisioned when we "snagged" Doug from Georgia Tech that he would turn out to be such an asset for our Participants, their customers and turn out to be one of the nicest people I have known."
Tim Blodgett, Hometown Connections:
"Doug always had a clear understanding of Georgia public power utilities. This was of great benefit in helping Hometown pursue value-added products and services, meeting the needs of Georgia's public power utilities. Doug's fingerprints are on each of the 56 product deliveries from Hometown Connections to 28 Georgia utilities. We wish Doug the best in retirement."
Jim Smith, College Park:
"Doug was instrumental in developing our Green Power program in College Park. He is truly one of the pioneers in the whole sustainability movement in the state of Georgia and in the Southeast."
Lynn Williams, Thomasville:
"Doug Moore has provided an invaluable service to our customers throughout the years. In fact, many of our customers ask for him by name. We're certainly going to miss him, and our local Taco Bell will miss him too. Many years ago, Doug was in Thomasville for an energy audit, and we asked him where he'd like to go lunch. He chose Taco Bell! Now, for all of us here at Thomasville Utilities, Taco Bell is known as Doug's place."
Jim Crudup, former co-worker:
"Doug, you have the ability to combine engineering theory with practical application and common sense to offer expert assistance. You were always ready to take on new challenges to help the participants and their retail customers."
