Operations

With years of service to over 50 community-owned utility systems we can provide an unique perspective to operational priorities. Our ECG Operational Services can offer long-term strategic opportunities as well as tactical solutions for today's issues and concerns.  Our services are targeted to best practices in design, construction and maintenance of utility infrastructures, improvements in efficiencies and effectiveness, reducing costs through consolidation of resources and joint action, improving service standards and introducing innovative ideas and concepts.

Innovation will be a major component in our utilities' futures. Climate change legislation and/or regulation is most likely on the horizon.  Generally this means a "smarter" power grid. Specifically, it may mean more renewable sources of energy, grid optimization, demand response programs, time-of-use pricing and real-time information to and from the customer meter.

ECG Operational Services can help you traverse the terrain of new mandated guidelines, or simply save you money in operating your existing system and perhaps most importantly, help you to provide quality service to your customers.

"The entire operation was very impressive. I was impressed with how well Dan Thompson of the ECG staff had planned everything. His advance briefing of our crew, the City of Griffin crews, and the substation crew, meant that everyone not only knew their part of the project but also what everyone else was going to do. The crews from Griffin were both professional and productive.
It was impressive for us to see seven line trucks rolling in that first Saturday.  But it was more than the equipment; it was the well trained men that did the work."
Bob Schwartz, City Manager, City of Monticello regarding Monticello's system upgrade operation
